A Look at the Vancouver Goldeneyes Halfway Through the Season

As of Jan. 25, the Vancouver Goldeneyes have played 15 out of 30 games, marking the halfway point of their inaugural season. Here’s where they stand halfway through their first season.

League Standings

The Goldeneyes sit fifth in the PWHL standings. They have five regulation wins, one overtime win, two overtime losses, and seven regulation losses for 19 points.

Ahead of them are the Boston Fleet in first with 28 points, followed by the Minnesota Frost in second with 25 points, Montréal Victoire in third with 24 points, and the New York Sirens in fourth with 23 points. 

The Ottawa charge also have 19 points, but have two less regulation wins than the Goldeneyes, placing them sixth in the standings. The Toronto Sceptres are in seventh with 17 points, and the Seattle Torrent are in eighth with 16 points.

The Fleet and Torrent both have two games in hand, giving the Fleet the chance to continue building a gap in the standings and the Torrent a chance to catch the Goldeneyes. The Frost and Victoire have one game in hand. The Sirens, Charge, and Sceptres sit even with Goldeneyes in games played.

Player Statistics

Claire Thompson leads the Goldeneyes in points with nine. She sits sixteenth in points across the league. The Goldeneyes are the only team to not have a player reach double digits for points.

Sophie Jaques, Izzy Daniel, Sarah Nurse, and Abby Boreen are tied for first in goals for the Goldeneyes with four.

Goldeneyes assist leader is Tereza Vanišová with seven.

Goalie Statistics

Two goaltenders have played for the Goldeneyes, Emerance Maschmeyer and Kristen Campbell.

Maschmeyer has played 11 out of 15 games. She has four wins, five regulation losses, and two overtime losses, posting a 0.930 SAV%, fifth in the league.

Campbell has played four out of 15 games. She has two wins and two regulation losses. She has a 0.928SAV%, seventh in the league.

Both goaltenders have one shutout.

Takeover Tours

The Goldeneyes have participated in four Takeover Tours during the 2025-26 season.

They have played at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Videotron Centre in Quebec City, and Ball Arena in Denver.

This season, they will play one more game as a part of the Takeover Tour, returning to Rogers Place on Apr. 7.

A Season Highlight

There have been many highlight moments for the Goldeneyes and fans in their inaugural season.

The Goldeneyes played their first game as a franchise at home and won. They beat the Torrent, the other team making their franchise debut this season, 4-3 in an overtime thriller. Sarah Nurse scored the first Goldeneyes goal of the game and in their history. She has scored in every home game this season.

Remaining Schedule

The Goldeneyes play next on Jan. 28 in Minnesota against the Frost. This is the last game day before the PWHL pauses for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. All eight PWHL teams will play.

The Goldeneyes resume PWHL action at 1 p.m locally on Mar. 1, starting a five game homestand.
