Edmonton Oil Kings vs Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The Edmonton Oil Kings got off to a great start for the WHL Playoffs. Carter Souch opened the scoring at 9:30 of the second period and the Oil Kings never looked back as they beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-1 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference.

The Hurricanes kept the Oil Kings scoreless after one, but the heavily favoured Oil Kings took control in the second period. Souch scored at 9:30 while Dylan Guenther scored on the power play at 14:47 of the second period. The Oil Kings out shot the Hurricanes 22-6 in the period. Edmonton put it away with two more goals in the third. Jalen Luypen scored at 14:40 of the third while Luke Prokop added an empty netter at 16:33. Jakub Demek and Josh Williams added two assists for the Oil Kings. Tyson Laventure of the Hurricanes ended the shutout big for Sebastian Cossa at the 18:12 mark of the third to get the goal for the Hurricanes. They were one for four open the powerplay. The Oil Kings outshot the Hurricanes 48-26. Bryan Thompson made 44 saves for the Hurricanes.
These two teams will play on Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
