Top CHL Facial of the Past and Present

The CHL has had some great players come through all three leagues. The likes of McDavid (OHL), Crosby (QMJHL), and Bedard (WHL). Now most of these players are kids when they play juniors, but you get the odd guy that can grow some stellar facial hair. For this article we are going to open the floor to all types of facial hair and we are going to only pick one from each league! So here are the best players with facial hair from the Dub, O, and Q; past and present.

WHL – Brayden Yager

Brayden Yager is the only active player on this list. His current WHL team is the Moose Jaw Warriors. He had a lot of success in his time there. In 228 regular games he has 274 points. He has had even more success in playoffs with 50 points in 30 playoff games. Also he helped Moose Jaw to a WHL Championship just last year. This off season he traded from Pittsburgh to the Winnipeg Jets. He looks like he will be a key piece of the Jets future and continues to show his skill in the WHL while dawning that stylish ‘stache.

OHL – Aaron Ekblad

Aaron Ekblad has always been this mountain of a man. Even in his time in the OHL, he looked like he was 5 years older than all the other players. Ekblad was an amazing OHL defenseman. He was solid defensively while being able to contribute offensively. in 2013-14 he was even able to bring home the Max Kaminsky Trophy for Most Outstanding Defenseman in the OHL. In his NHL career he continued his success. He most recently won his first Stanley Cup, and in his first season he took home the Calder Cup for NHLs Rookie of the Year. Throughout his career he has rocked an amazing beard.

QMJHL – Lane Hinkley

Lane Hinkley played four seasons in the QMJHL totaling in 143 games. During that time he played for three teams, Acadie-Bathurst, Drummondville, and Charlotte. He had 25 points during his time in the Q, but unfortunately, his junior career was cut short due to concussions. He was able to play 10 games in the MJAHL including six games this season. While he was in the QMJHL, he was sporting a great beard and mustache combination.
