Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced a series of updates within the team’s Hockey Operations department, reflecting both internal promotions and new additions across key areas of support staff. These moves highlight the organization’s ongoing commitment to building strong infrastructure behind the bench and off the ice.
Equipment Staff Updates
Longtime Canucks staff member Brian Hamilton has been promoted to Head Equipment Manager. Known for his dedication and strong rapport with players, Hamilton steps into the leadership role after years of hands-on experience within the equipment team.
Supporting him in critical day-to-day operations are Mac Stewart and Brodie St. Jacques, who will serve as Assistant Equipment Managers. In addition, John Stewart—who has previously worked with the club—has joined full-time as an Assistant Equipment Manager and Visiting Room Attendant, helping ensure smooth operations for both the Canucks and visiting teams.
Hockey Video & Coaching Support
On the video and analysis side, Ian Beckenstein has earned a promotion to Video Coach, taking on a larger role in providing tactical breakdowns and real-time insights for the coaching staff. The Canucks have also hired Evan Mathias as Assistant Video Coach, further strengthening their analytics and game preparation resources.
Hockey Operations Administration
Rounding out the updates, Taylor Philips has been promoted to Executive Assistant, Hockey Operations, reflecting her expanded role in supporting the team’s senior leadership group.
Building for Success
With these personnel changes, the Canucks continue to invest in the behind-the-scenes staff who play an essential role in supporting the players and coaching staff throughout the NHL season. From equipment management to video analysis to administrative coordination, these updates represent an ongoing effort to create a professional, well-resourced environment designed for success.
