The Halifax Mooseheads are wrapping up their summer and preparing for the start of training camp on Saturday, August 20th. After falling to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the playoffs last year and with 19 returning faces, the Mooseheads will look to become the cream of the crop in 2022-23.
Notable returning players include Zachary L’Heureux, Jordan Dumais, Jake Furlong, Brady Schultz, Attilio Biasca, Dylan MacKinnon, Robert Orr, and Cameron Whynot.
There will be new faces looking to fill the unoccupied spots on the roster. All eyes will be on Hammonds Plains product Owen Phillips, who was taken seventh overall in the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft but will have stiff competition on the blueline with import draft selection David Moravec, who will bring a heavier style to the fold.
Brody Fournier, formerly of the Central Canadian Hockey League, will bring an added offensive punch to the top-six after scoring 37 goals in 55 games last season.
Training camp commences this Saturday, August 20th, at the RBC Centre in Dartmouth. The Mooseheads will have their first taste of preseason action this Tuesday at the Glace Bay Miners Arena versus the Cape Breton Eagles and will return to Dartmouth the following day for their first home game of the preseason.
A notable omission from the roster this season will be Alexandre Tessier. He will be joining the Charlottetown Islanders for their training camp, given the crowded blueline for Halifax.
